Members of theCAT attend Beaver Barcamp 11 at Oregon State University. A presentation describing the Braindump method of training system administrators was given at the event.
A large contingent of CATs descended on Beaver Barcamp 11 at Oregon State University on April 20, 2013. Two large van loads of CATs, former CATs and ACM/Tutor folk made the trip to Corvallis to participate in the un-conference at the Kelley Engineering Center.
There were a lot of interesting presentations which included “successful system administration, mead brewing and how to turn a T-shirt into a tie”. CAT UNIX Lead Blkperl (William Van Havelingen) and Nibalizer (Spencer Krum) presented their “Zero to Root in 12 months” which describes the Braindump method of training system administrators.
It was also a chance for the CATs to hang out with their OSU colleagues at a BBQ sponsored by the OSU-OSL.
The OSU-OSL has a user-contributed photo album of the event.
